- Immediately greet guests upon entering the store.
- Complete sales transactions cheerfully, quickly and accurately.
- Clean all sections of the store thoroughly and consistently. This includes counters, aisles, shelves, windows, floors, gas pumps, bathrooms, parking lot, food service areas, etc.
- Operate computerized Point of Sale systems and authorize gas pumps.
- Complete all tasks on the Daily Check Sheet as well as tasks assigned by Manager.
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Complete light paperwork duties as assigned.
- Develop ability to understand instructions for operating and troubleshooting cash registers, gas dispensers, computers and other equipment.
- Accurately account for inventory during vendor check-ins.
- Keep coolers, store shelves and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.
- Properly clean, prepare and maintain high margin items and their equipment including coffee, fountain drinks, etc.
- Use “suggestive selling” techniques to increase average sales per customer.
- Must be 18 years or older with some high school or equivalent education.
- Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions in English.
- Capable of standing, bending and walking the entire shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to perform arithmetical calculations to make change, complete shift reports and account for numbers of a variety of products.
- Sufficient visual acuity to check identification and to authorize gas pumps.
- Ability push, pull and lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a cooler at a temperature of 28 degrees for an extended period; and in a freezer at a temperature of below -10 degrees.
